Beauvais Airport in Paris

We are planning to take a flight back to Paris from Dublin in order to take our flight from Paris back to the US because we will have already seen England and Scotland on the way to Ireland. We figured this will be faster and cheaper (in the end, more effcient) than taking trains and ferries to get back to Paris. The cheapest flights are through Ryanair; however, they run to Beauvais Airport... Does anyone know where this is? I have only heard of Charles de Gaulle & Orly... Any info? Thanks

OH... I have also found on lowest fare.com, some prices for 2 people one-way... $118!! Do you think this is legit? On the Ryanair.com website, the price is 19.99 pounds for one way... what is this equivalent to?

THANKS!!!

19.99 pounds are equivalent to 32 US Dollars (estimate). However the town of Beauvais is located 80 km (50 miles) from Paris. This mean you'll have another hour and half by car or coach to get into Paris.

The incredible fares for Dublin-Beauvais are true and legit. I flew the route last fall.

And the info above is roughly correct. Do you have to do this on the same day as your departure back to the US? Maybe you can juggle your itinerary so that you spoend one final night in Paris before heading home.

Getting to CDG is NOT that far, but I'm not sure about public transportation short of renting a car (probably 60 dollars minimum for a single day rental) or going into Paris and then back out again.

Beauvais has VERY LIMITED services - - for example, no currency exchange, but all the major car rental companies ARE there. It's a tiny airport - - 5 minutes from the tarmac to the front door.

Best wishes,

Rex

Thanks, guys, for all your advice... However, do you know if Beauvais has a train station? Is it possible to take a train from Beauvais to Paris?

We flew RyanAir Beauvais- Dublin. It is comparable to flying Southwest Airlines in the USA. The Beauvais-Paris transport is via bus that takes about 90 minutes or more to deposit you in front of a tavern in the 17th (I think!) arrondissement. From there you would need additional transport. There may be a Beauvais train station but it is not near the airport and you would have to shell out for a taxi, then train fare into Paris. In short, you'll end up saving a few dollars (or pounds) on airfare but spending additional time and money for taxi transport or car rental. Have you considered a RyanAir (or other discount) flight to London, then the Eurostar to CDG? The Eurostar now goes right to CDG, and there are several discount fares available. If you've not previously been on it, it's worth a try and could end up providing a "travel treat" with net savings of time and money.

Hi Carrie,

I just bought a round trip ticket from
Paris to Dublin via Ryan Air. The Ryan
air site has directions for a shuttle
bus which will take you from Paris
to Beauvais. It costs, if I remember
correctly, 50 FF. That still makes
Ryan Air much cheaper than anything else
I could find.

Have a wonderful trip.

Kathleen
