Beaune/Burgundy Events last week of May?
 

We are planning a trip at the end of May/begging of June around Burgundy and Provence. We are finding that hotels in Beaune are more expensive the last week of May than they are the previous week. Past experience would indicate a large event in the area, but we can’t seem to find anything. Our plans are fluid at the moment and before we solidify things and make reservations we would like to know if there is a an event we would prefer to avoid. Thanks in advance for any help sleuthing this out.

There is a big auto show in Beaune in mid May and then a golf tournament the 23rd to 24th but it's probably just going into more popular tourism season, or the dates ot hotel you picked. I checked one hotel, the Poste, and their rates aren't higher that week except very last day of May just a bit. And that's a weekend when rates are higher.

The last week of May is also a Bank Holiday in the UK -- so a lot of visitors because of that.
