BN is a big deal in Paris among the french.

I am in paris now. all the talk is about BN. in my office we had a huge party with BN, food, etc.

Everyone is talking about what they are doing tonight and how they are seeing friends...many of which are standing dates that they have had for years on each 3rd thurs of nov.

there are posters all around paris. i was cautioned that most people will be very late in the office.

is this a shameless marketing ploy...yes it is. is BN wine any good...no it is not. but it is NOT a campaign aimed just at americans.

it's not only americans whose behaviour are effected by marketing campaigns. i don't know what lead you to make this assumption that it is nothing in paris but obviously you have never been in paris around this time so comments are best left to those who have.

elaine...sorry if my post sounded a bit agressive. i think i was just bothered that the tone of your response to the OP implied that he/she was somehow ignorant for asking about partaking in an (in your view) american tradition while in paris.

When I lived in London in the 70's, one of the Beaujolais Nouveau Day events was a antique car race from Trafalgar to Beaujolais and back.

They would race down to the ferry, party during the ferry ride and race back with the first case of Beaujolais Nouveau. Do they still do that?

I was in Paris on BN day and even though I saw a lot of bistros advertising it, I didn't really get a feeling that it was so wild. Did I miss something?
