Beach hotel in Algarve
 

We'll be in the Algarve for several days mid-November. Considering Pestana Viking, Pestana Alvor Praia, Sheraton Algarve. Any thoughts re: these or other hotels in Central/Western section?

There was a similar question recently. Suggest you search this forum for Algarve. I think you will be the only people in the hotel whichever you choose. The Algarve is a summer thing.

Stillhouse: You may be AMONG the few people in the Algarve, in winter, but you will NOT be alone. We spent two weeks there in January a couple of years ago, and loved it. In summer it is TOO crowded, but in Jan./Feb. not bad - some of the Irish pubs are closed, thank goodness, cuz those should be in Ireland anyhow. The Alvor Pestana is the only one I know about. We didn't stay there, but it is very nice. I imagine all the Pestanas are good. Alvor is a charming fishing village. trouble is, the Alvor Pestana is not on or in sight of a beach, but a couple of miles "in land." Otherwise prob. 4 star.
