beach day trip from rome
 
We are thinking about a day trip from Rome. What are your favorite public beaches within an hour or so?

There are none---Sperlonga is the best and it is 2 hours.
See Rome, or train up to Orvieto.

Confirmed, you should either go south to beautiful Sperlonga/Gaeta beaches(Torvaianica, 30' before, is nice, but not as muuch) or north to Argentario. Plan to drive a coulìple of hours (but it's worthwhile!)

Ostia is the beach near Rome...also is now part of Rome..
