Beach at Menton near Napolean Hotel

We are reserving 2 nights at the Napolean Hotel next summer, so as to have a reasonably priced base for Nice and Monacco.

Can someone please advise as to how near or far the beach is located, is it pebbles or sand, and, by the way, any comment on this hotel and its swimming pool would also be appreciated.

Thanks for any assistance.

Nevertooold (neither am I), we stayed at the Napoleon several years ago for just one night on our way to Italy. The hotel is located within walking distance to the Italian border.

The beach is across the street from the hotel. I do not recall if it was sand or pebbles. The pool is in front of the hotel, a little to the side of the entrance. It wasn't a huge pool but it seemed just right for a quick dip to cool off after a long day of sightseeing. When we were there, they set up breakfast in an area near the pool.

The rooms, at the time we were there were adequate (very thin walls though) - nothing special, but comfortable. We did have a decent sized balcony with table and chairs. I thought I read somewhere that they had done some room renovations. For two nights, it will be fine. We enjoyed Menton.

Have a wonderful trip!

PS: We stayed at the Prince de Galles two years ago and also enjoyed that hotel and location which is at the other end of the bay. No pool, but beach is across the street.
