B&B or Hotel In Galway

My husband and I are looking for something cute, young, not outrageously priced and fun in Galway within walking distance of what we want to see.

Thanks!

My recommendation as far as the place we stayed, A Aaron Guest House on College Rd., would be to suggest that you not stay there. We weren't very happy with it.

However, you might want to do a search on this board for Galway lodging. There have been quite a few threads on the subject. And you should be able to get some good ideas from them.

Good luck!

Well, you can certainly find something cute and young in Galway and the price ....

Well, I digress. There may be some B&Bs in Salthill that are in lengthy walking distance to what you want to see (not knowing what it is you want to see). The is nothing cute about the Jury's Hotel in the city center, but it is VERY convenient to everything sitting at the end of the walking mall, across from the river and the not particularly exciting Spanish Arch. Galway is a young city and very energetic.

Hi,

My husband and I (I hope we're what you consider young - 28) were in Galway less than 2 weeks ago and stayed at the Amber Lodge Bed and Breakfast (http://www.amberlodgebb.com/). The location, on College Road, was about a 7 minute walk (if that) to Eyre Square. The location was perfect for exploring Galway. Our room (and bathroom) were quite small, and simply appointed, but nice. The breakfast room was very charming and the breakfast was huge and delicious. There is also an outdoor hot tob which we took advantage of We paid 80 euros for the room per night and would stay there again....

There are many other B and Bs on College Road, though we did not check any of them out...

Good luck!

I can only recommend a place about 60 min. outside of Galway...Delphi Lodge. It's also close to Westport, a lovely town with great shops and traditional music at Matt Malloy's.

In July, 10 of us stayed at Ardawn House on College Rd. It was clean, convenient and pretty quite. The 7-10 walk to Eyre Sq. is great and the hosts were eager to answer any questions we had. They were very accommodating with breakfast for our early departure for Shannon Airport.
