Bayern ticket

So It is my understanding that up to 5 people can travel for 27 Euros after 9am thruout Bavaria. Defining what is Bavaria has been hard. Am I correct in assuming that I can travel to Rothenburg and Fussen on this ticket, but not Bacharach? I'm getting ready to buy my railpass,so I'm counting the days I need. Thanks!

Yes to all. not to Bacharach or even really close. and if you could you'd have to travel on slower regional trains that take much longer as the Bavarian pass is not valid on the faster trains. I suggest searching this forum for LarryinColorado who has answered this question in his many informative posts on this ticket and other Lander, or regional passes, in Germany.

Here is a link to a PDF map showing exactly what is and is not covered by the Bayern Ticket:

The Bayern ticket is valid inside the clearly defined borders of the federal state of Bayern/Bavaria. So what's hard about that?
Check the article "Bavaria" on Wikipedia, there you'll find all infos including links to detailed maps.

Actually, it's also valid a few places outside of Bavaria, including Ulm, Kisslegg, and Reutte. (See the map I linked to above.)

It is also valid for travel to Salzburg and Kufstein.
