Bavaria in the spring or summer?

My husband and I have been planning a trip to Bavaria and Salzburg, and have relied a lot on this forum for advice. So here I am again wondering when it's the best time to go. Whether wise I can see late august being better, but I would love to beat the crowds and perhaps see a bit of snow still up on the mountains? So tell me: when it's the best time to visit this area?

As a beer lover, I find Bavaria to be the most fun when the weather is warm and the beer gardens are in full swing :)

Usually May is a good time to visit Bavaria. Often, you will enjoy warm, springlike weather, there will be snow in the mountains, but no more snow on the roads, everything is blooming and green. Beer gardens will be open, of course. There is a chance of rain in Germany at any time of the year.

If you cannot go in May, June will also be nice. In July and August the weather might be litte hot and everything is a bit more crowded.

Thanks! This info helps ponder both options...

I love the spring or fall. Some don't have a/c in the hot months and it is freezing in Nov and Feb but have even done that. Never a bad time.
