Bath to Central London: Train or bus

Hello

I have gotten some great info on my upcoming trip in July.

I have a quick question on transport into London from Bath. I am staying in Mayfair London near the Green Park tube stop. I will be travelling from Bath into London on a Thursday mid-morning. Would it be better to take the train or the bus (National Express) into London? Any money-saving tips? Thanks for your help.

The bus will be cheaper but slower, and you would have a more awkward onward journey to Green Park. Victoria Coach Station is a bit of a walk from the bus or tube that would take you to Green Park.

The train would take you to Paddington: tube to Green Park from there - Bakerloo Line to Baker St, change there to the Jubilee Line (a short walk on the level).

There is a train every 30 minutes for most of the day between Bath and London Paddington. The journey takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

National Express run 6 buses (or coaches, as they are known in the U.K.) per day between Bath and London Victoria. The journey takes between 3 and 3 1/2 hours.

The train is more comfortable, but you know that you will have a seat on the coach.

The coach is much cheaper, but there are good deals on train tickets if you buy early and travel outside the peak periods, when people are travelling to London for work or business.

Patrick and chartley have explained the options -- mainly -- if it fits in your budget take the train, and if you need the cheapest option, take the coach. Both are just fine.

Thanks!

I din't need the cheapest way, just most convenient. Will book train tickets to Paddington.

If it was between Bath & Heathrow then getting the coach would be best
