Bath International Music Festival

My husband and I will be staying in Bath for two nights at the end of May. Our visit coincides with the Bath International Music Festival (May 20th-June 5th). There is a web site but it has not been officially launched yet (end of March).

Has anyone been in Bath during this festival? Did you attend any of the festival events? Was the city exceptionally crowded during this time?

Thanks in advance.

That was the time frame that I was in England last year. When we were in Bath, in the area where the homes are in a cricle there was a whole bunch of people there and a stage with music. I wasn't paying attention to that, but the person who we were with that was giving us our tour.

If it was indeed the festival you are speaking of I do not know. There wasn't huge crowds. At least this message will take this back to the top. Good luck!

I have never been to the Bath Festival, but looking at last year's program, it seems to be a blend of classical music and world music. They didn't seem to have the big names that would attract large crowds.

I have been there. There are different venues around bath. The music is as the previous poster says. world and classical. It doesn't impede on anything else gooing on in Bath except restaurant reservations before and after performances.

Bath is always crowded on the weekends! Locals come to shop and tourists come to sightsee.

May is wonderful there! Bath wins many awards for its beautiful gardens in May!

the crowd another poster referred to is in "the circus" but I am not sure that they would have had anything going on there.

The royal cresent which has a park outside does have a wonderful outdoor consert that is classical. Check the dates for that one. Bring a picnic and a bottle of wine!
