Bath Accomodation Help

We have tentative reservations at several places in Bath. Anyone ever been to any of these? We are travelling next weekend with our ten year old.

Pratts, Cheriton House, Kennard Hotel, Duke's Hotel, Leighton House, Queensberry(although the room is 3rd floor and sounds small)and Windsor. Dorian House is full, but we keep trying.

HELP!

We stayed at the Kennard in March 2001. The proprietor was extremely helpful and friendly. The room itself was quite small. The bath and breakfast were nice.

We stayed at the Queensberry and it was lovely. We had a fairly large room, though, that overlooked the rear garden.

Good location - easy to walk to town.

I remember there is a restaurant on the ground floor that was also tasty. The property had a B&B feel to it.

Hi Kathryn,

I know this doesn't directly answer your question, so sorry if I am no help, but I highly recommend the Brompton House - www.bromptonhouse.co.uk. We stayed there last month, and it is great. Big rooms - 3 adults shared a triple with no problem, large bathroom, about a 6 or 7 minute flat walk to the center of town (Abbey and Roman Baths). Owner was great, and the triple was about 90 GBP.

my suggestion is for Villa Magdala - right over the Putney bridge, just a few minutes walk from the Abbey

We stayed at the Queensbury last September and it was absolutely wonderful in every respect.

I wish I could help you kathrynp, but I hope you'll do the decent thing and cancel at the places you won't be staying at quickly. It sounds like you have 7 rooms for next weekend booked which isn't fair to either the innkeepers or other travelers.

If everyone starts doing this, innkeepers will have to become much more restrictive on their cancellation policies and could even start to demand non-refundable deposits.
