Bateaux Mouches Paris

What is your opinion please? Bateau Mouche with dinner or Bateau Mouche without dinner for a first visit to Paris? and then where would you go to pick up a boat when you are at the Arc de triomphe? THANK YOU

I"m sure the food is nothing special but it might be a pleasant dinner or way to pass the time if it weren't so expensive. But it is, so I wouldn't do it myself. I'd just take the cruise without dinner.

the Bateau Mouche company has a landing near pont de l'Alma. If you go there, I'm sure you will see it and everyone else going, it is just to the east of the bridge. You would just walk down the ave des Champs-Elysees, and take a right (go south) on av George V until you hit the river at place de l'Alma. They have fairly large boats, which may or may not matter to you (it didn't to me). There are several other companies who do this but they are the one closest to the Arc.

I would always choose to do just the cruise, then go find a good dinner elsewhere.

I also prefer the Vedettes de Paris to the Bâteaux-Mouches.

I do one of these boat cruises every time I go to Paris. They are an inexpensive and lovely way to see a lot from the boat (providing the weather is good). I wouldn't do the meal.

And I like the Vedettes du Pont-Neuf, but I wouldn't eat dinner on one.

We took our own champagne, plastic glasses and truffles on the Vedettes. There is an online discount if you decide for that boat.

I agree that you are better off taking the river cruise and then having a nice dinner at a good bistro or restaurant afterward. We, too, prefer the Vedettes du Pont Neuf which boards from a small island next to the Pont Neuf.

I am going to stick up for the dinner. Traveling Europe as poor college students long ago my future wife and I splurged on dinner and it was one of our most memorable meals (and not just because they made me wear a brightly colored sports coat)! :)

My vote goes to Vedettes also. At the Pont Neuf--no dinner. Here's the web site

OK THANK YOU , it seems your majority votes is for the Vedettes Cruise with no dinner, it's in my itinerary.

We like the Seine cruise as the sun is setting and the lights are beginning to come on. It is a magical time.
