Can anyone help out with the best bateau mouche in Paris. Not the large ones, something smaller.<BR>Thanks

Bateau Parisienes (sp) has a smaller dinner cruise. It is about 120 E /per person excluding wine. But really very nice, good food, and no commentary

There is only one firm running Bateaux Mouches as it is a registered trade name (www.bateaux-mouches.fr). Similar sightseeing trips are run by three other companies (www.bateauxparisiens.com, www.vpn-cpn.com and www.vedettesdeparis.com).

Try the Pont Neuf boats.

I think an evening cruise is best, but not the dinner cruises. You can get better meals elsewhere &amp; cheaper. The buildings look really pretty at night all lit up.<BR><BR>The Bateau Mouche cruises are much more touristy, as this is the &quot;name brand&quot; that everyone has heard of. The dialogue is done by recording and repeats the text in multiple languages so you don't get near as much information about each sight.<BR><BR>The Bat. Vedettes du Pont Neuf leaves from Sq. du Vert Galant at the West end of Isle de la Cite (opposite end from Notre Dame. I took both of these river cruises and I enjoyed this one much more. There was a live guide to describe the sights and you could ask questions. Much more enjoyable.<BR><BR>If you have time, do both day and night, everything looks really different.<BR><BR>Enjoy.

We took a Bateau Mouch dinner cruise and it was most enjoyable. It was one of the higlights of our trip as we didn't have much time to spare. The service, food and beautiful scenery of the Paris skyline was great. I would recommend it.<BR>Added note: Men do need to wear ties before accepted on dinner cruise.

Take a Vedette de Paris cruise ( smaller boats) and then go have dinner somewhere nearby. The dinner cruises are a waste of good money - SO much better food is within a few blocks at nearby bistros and brasseries and restaurants.

Agree with the Vedette de Paris cruise. Ours was very enjoyable with a guide who spoke very good english. Windows were a bit dirty and it did detract from the view a bit.
