Bastille Day in Loire Valley?

We will be near Blois on July 14th. Anybody know of particularly good celebrations around there?

I've never been in the Loire Valley on Bastille Day, but I can assure you that if there is not a celebration in Blois itself, there will be one or more nearby. And there will be posters everywhere announcing what's happening. You can check with the tourist office in Blois for the various options. They will no doubt include an outdoor dinner, dancing, and fireworks in one or more towns. And possibly a parade with local elected officials, speeches, a show of the local fire brigades, etc.

I did a month long home exchange in the Loire several years ago in August, so I missed July 14th.

Tourist information puts out a comprehensive booklet of events. It lists all the entertainment, special events, etc. I referred to it as "The Bible" when I was there. I went out almost every night to see something; many of the chateaux have plays, concerts, sound and light shows, etc., in the evening. There is plenty going on and I am sure Bastille Day is full of celebrations all over.

Have fun and get that booklet when you arrive!
