Bastille Day Fireworks, Paris

Hi All,

I was in Paris for the Bastille Day fireworks, and I was prepared with tripod on hand. The show is pretty incredible. It was a revelation to us. We think it's such a great show that people ought to plan their trip to see it. It's always thirty minutes long, starts at 11 PM (because it's light until nearly 11 PM in mid-July in Paris), and is based off of and around the Eiffel Tower. The show is meant to be seen from the Champs de Mars, but looks great from just about any angle. The crowds start gathering around 6PM. They've added security all the way around the Champs de Mars that doesn't open until 6PM - new starting last year.

Without further ado, here are the amazing photos (if I do say so myself) .

Hope you enjoy! Please leave comments!

I had the good fortune to see it from the L'Oiseau Blanc, on top of the Paris Peninsula Hotel. It was incredible indeed! I love the ones that shoot out of the Eiffel Tower.

I was very lucky to have seen it from a rooftop in the 7th. An amazing show.

Incredible!

Thanks so much for all the compliments! Seamus - that's probably the best compliment I've ever had about a photo. Adelaide - so great to hear from you again. I was about to look you up since I didn't hear from you at first. I always love hearing from you. Sarastro - an apartment in the 7th sounds like a great place to watch from.

Lovely photos, but what do they have to do with Paris, or fireworks, or Bastille Day?

Adelaidean Jul 22nd, 2017 05:23 PM

Sorry, nukesafe, intended for Vick, as I follow his photoblogs.
( I suppose I could have commented on his actual blog. )
