Basque, France?

I will be staying in San Sebastian/Destonia for four nights with car, before heading to Barcelona. I have a sudden interest to see some of the area north in France, St jean de Luz or Bayonne. Can anyone tell me any specifics on places to go, restraunts/cafes, markets, etc.. in this area. Is this area considered part of the Basque region? Thank you in advance for any help or information. thereyet

St Jean de Luz is a terrific little town--one of our favorite destinations in France. Just park the car and walk around. The port, beach, and downtown shopping area are close together. Good restaurants on rue Republique, Portua our favorite.

Since I am going to Bayonne and Saint-Jean-de-Luz I emailed them @ www.Saint-Jean-de-luz.com and www.bayonne-tourisme.com. Chocolate fix?

Awsome web sites! Thank you John. I got a lot of swiss blood in me so of course the chocolate sounds great. Anyone else have experiences here? thereyet

Yes, I'm a huge fan of St-Jean-de-Luz. I wear my Basque apron from there every night when making dinner. Two restaurants we really enjoyed there were Irrintzina and Au Chipiron.
