Basketball in Rome???
Hi there! I'm planning on moving to Italy for the summer and dragging my poor, pathetic boyfriend with me. Question: he is looking forward to it all, but concerned that he won't be able to get his "pick up basketball games in". Anyone know of any courts or fields, whatever, where guys do this?

with so much to do, why in the world would he want to play basketball????
turn him on to history for god sake!

Antowane:
Yes! And I feel for you...there are often pick up games at the Coliseum. Good luck!

Shirley -

What's the reason for the snotty response? They are going to be LIVING there for several months. Believe it or not, people who actually go abroad to for a period of time actually do things other than touring museums, etc. I've lived in Europe in a few different places, including Rome, for periods of time ranging from 3 months to 18 months. In all of those places, I did things other than "tourist" stuff - running, playing tennis, going to the movies, parties etc.

Antowane - I don't remember pick up basketball being quite as popular as it here, but you will be able to find it in Rome. Try the expat organizations about local gyms with courts - that would be a good place to start.

Antowane -

Ignore Shirley - she is obviously clueless about expatriate life. Can't help you with the basketball but wanted to wish you a great time living in Rome!
