Basel train station and around

Jump to last reply

I'm going to be changing trains in Basel - coming from Milan and going to Luxembourg. I'll have almost two hours between them and was wondering if there is anything in the area around the train station worth seeing. The Spalentor Gate looks interesting and looks to be about a mile from the train station. Is the area that you would walk through nice/interesting enough to make it worthwhile? Any squares, churches, etc closer? I guess I'm looking for about an hour long walk (round trip) from the train station - just to see a little of the city and stretch my legs between two four hour train rides. Thanks
