FWIW, check back again next spring. There may be a new hotel worth considering or an existing hotel may have had a makeover.

I love Lugano and visit the city often, but there is, IMO, a crying need for a hotel that combines the level of comfort and service you get at the Hotel Dante with a lake view. There are plenty of lake view hotels but they all seem to be missing something -- they're using their lake view as an excuse to slide on some aspect of service or accommodation quality. Sigh.
