Barkston Gardens...heard of it???

As many of you regular posters (& readers) know, I have been planning my trip to London for Feb 2003. I have done internet searches and even searches on different messageboards (including this one) but I haven't found anyone who has stayed at Barkston Gardens in Earl's Court. So if you have stayed there, give me your critique of it...please!!!

I haven't stayed there, but there have been many pleasant reviews at Fodors of the Barkston Gardens. I had actually considered staying there for my trip over Thanksgiving, but I got better pricing in Bloomsbury, at the Thistle Bloomsbury, which I absolutely adored. You might also check out the Sussex Gardens area, as there are many small Edwardian style hotels for the budget conscious, and the area is nice, and also only a few minute walk to Paddington.

The Barkston Gardens is a traditional terraced hotel in a fairly quiet residential square, about a 2 min walk from Earl's Court Underground station.

Inside the feel is a little more modern. The hotel was refurbished about 2 years ago. Most of the rooms (for London) are a good size, with those at the front of the hotel tending to be the biggest. It has a small bar, breakfast room and lounge.

It is a 3 star hotel with pretty standard facilities in the room. If you are not expecting too much and are happy in a 3 star hotel in Earls Court then this is a pretty good option.
