Bargello Museum

Oh trusty fodorites--help me out on this one--I have pre-ordered my tickets for the Accademie and the Uffizi, but I ask is it necessary to pre-order tickets for the Bargello? I have read everything here and no one has mentioned lines--I checked the hours and I see that that they are limited to the morning --so I have reserved my morning for the Bargello and the late afternoon for the Uffizi--I have so little time in Florence--just two days that I'm hyperventilating at the prospect of not using my time wisely and missing something--molto grazie--cheryl

Hi Cheryl, I was in Florence last year and had no problems getting into the Bargello, since there were no lines. You are quite correct with regards their hours, and should do the Bargello in the morning and the Uffizi in the afternoon as you have planned.

Cheryl, previous post is correct we were there in May and the Bargello was deserted.Same with Medici chapel.Enjoy.

Cheryl, don't worry about getting into the Bargello. Although it is definite must-see in Florence, when we were there in May, while the lines into the Uffizi were tremendous (we had reservations fortunately), the Bargello was practically empty. Just make sure you check out the closing times - we met several people who were disappointed because it had already closed by early afternoon. See it in the morning, have lunch in the neighborhood (Vivoli the fabulous gelato place is nearby) and then head to the Uffizi in the afternoon. Enjoy!

Just got back from Florence a couple of weeks ago and concur with what you have read--the Bargello was deserted (which is unfortunate becasue it was wonderful!--especially the views from the very top!) while the Uffizi and Accademia had huge lines (there was, incidently, about a 20 min. line for the Medici Chappels. The only other thing you might want reservations for are the Royal Apartments at the Piti Palace in that they are not letting anyone in without reservations because of security concerns. But as far as the Bargello goes, just make sure you go in the morning and leave plenty of time to savor the views. Have a great trip. Hans
