barge/bicycle trip
 

anyone taken a group trip where you bicycle by day and stay on a barge?<BR>

Trying for the third time to post.<BR><BR>I had a friend take a bike/barge tour in Holland. She liked it so much she went back the next year. She is an experienced bicycle tourist.

Most barge trips have bicycles aboard so that when you are on a canal you can bicycle along the paths alongside and get back on at a lock. I don't know how that would work when you are on the rivers from time to time.

The trip I am referring to is primarily a bicycle tour with accomodations on a barge.

I would also like to hear of any experiences by the members of this board on either the bike/barge or bike/hotel tours.<BR><BR>Quite a few companies are available online, but other that the schedule, price &amp; route, there is little to tell between them.<BR><BR> Keith
