I always visit Le Fete Gallant at 13 rue des Ecoles Polytechnique in the Latin Quarter. Their fixed menu can't be beat and the service is always pleasant.

As for Flunch....I dunno about that! Whenever we hear the word, my siblings make a funny noise and do a mocking "mmmm, authentic!" It IS cheap, but full of groups of school children from America.

Ah hah! So its possible to get a full meal for only 59FF!!! Thank-you StCirq for your suggestion! Thank you everyone else too - so many wonderful suggestions, so little time...but I think I'm up to the challenge!!

We often have the prix fixe menu but I cannot remember names :o) ~but I second the bistro Petit St Benoit, rue St Benoit between Blvd St Germain and rue Jacob. We eat there 2-3 times during our stays in Paris, a small neighborhood place, very busy, friendly crowd and staff, delicious home cooking~and very reasonable.Have a wonderful time~C

Perhaps the best quality/price prix fixe offering is at Le Bistrot du 7eme, across the street from the LaTour-Maubourg metro at 56, bd de Latour-Maubourg. 16Euro three-course dinner with many selections. Always packed so go early or reserve. 01 45 51 93 08. And try the Michelin "Bib Gourmand" selections; more pricey but great value!

Any suggestions for moderate priced dinners? My family and I will be staying near the Opera. We will have 3 dinners in Paris. I'm interested in good food, but not real expensive (just not as cheap as some of the suggestions I've read here). ps. we do not necessarily newed to dine near the hotel
