Bargain Airlines

I have flown RyanAir a couple of times out of London Stanstead. I am looking for an inexpensive flight into London Gatwick and then try RyanAir to other destinations. Has anyone flown EasyJet from London. I see they have flights out of Gatwick which will make it easier than taking a train from Gatwick to Victoria Station and then a train to Stanstead. Thanks.

I haven't flown Easyjet myself, but they're a good, reputable firm (albeit "no frills"). You could also try www.openjet.com for other budget airlines.

Never flown them, but plenty of reports that they are fine, especially if you are not too picky as to be content with RyanAir!

Best wishes,

Rex

We flew EasyJet a few times last April/May with no problems.
They don't have pre-assigned seating, which means that when the gates open, it's a free for all race for all the passengers to get to the plane first to score those valuable in-front-of-the-enginge window seats.

I've flown to & from London with easyJet on several ocassions without any problems.

BikerScott is partly right - they don't do pre-assigned seating but they do hand out consecutively numbered boarding cards at check in i.e. the first person to check in gets card number 1, the second, card number 2 etc. When it comes time to board they will then announce that passengers holding cards number 1 to 50 may board first (I'm guessing it's 50, but can't quite remember). That's when the free for all starts, but if you are one of the first batch of passengers to be called you shouldn't have a problem finding a seat.

Just a word if you decide to go from Gatwick to Stansted there is a bus from Victoria staion. If take the train you have to take the tube from Victoria to Liverpool station to get the train.

The British newspapers keep track of where the budget airlines are travelling and I've used the following webpage to keep up to date...

http://travel.guardian.co.uk/cheapfl...479091,00.html

This page from the Guardian newspaper and offers up to date links to destinations and airlines (Easyjet, Flybe, Ryan air etc...) including who flies where.

Hope this helps!
