Barcelone : 3 day visit

Hi ,
Thank you all for your kind help in my trip to london . All set for new one :)
I am plannig to visit barcelona for 3 days next week (over the weekend) . i have no idea if 3 days are enough or i can also go around like •Montserrat, 30 miles (48.3 km) west of Barcelona .
I might have frnd of mine with me , otherwise would go alone . So wanna plan all in advance .
Can anyone please help me on where to go and what all I can explore there in total of 3 days .

Three days is an ok amount of time for visiting the major sights in Barcelona. The trip to Montserrat takes most of the day and I would not recommend it for a first-time visit.

Buy tickets on line for Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Casa Battlo, and Palau de la Musica tour so you can avoid standing in line. I found no lines in any other places.

Recommendations: The above 4 sights plus Palau Guell, Parc Guell, Catalan Museum, Cathedral.

There are lots of other sights but any further recommendations would depend on your interests.

I agree with that, I wouldn't go to Montserrat if you only have 3 days and have never been there. I suspect lines aren't going to be that bad in November, but haven't been there then.

Hi G,

Barcelona will keep you occupied for three days.

We very much liked our stay in the Columbus Room at http://www.marinaviewbcn.com/web/index.php/en/

Paddy is one of the nicest hosts in Europe.

I highly recommend you to go and see "La Capitana", a homage to the greatest flamenco dancer of all times, the barcelonesa Carmen Amaya (1913-1963). Out of this world artists perform every night in the majestic Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. Until Nov 10: http://www.tnc.cat/en/la-capitana-ho...men-amaya-info

You can't sight see without a map so that's your first step. Then mark the sights that you want to see on the map and it will soon become apparent what places are near each other.

I would not go to the beach in November so put this at the bottom of your list.

Hospital de la Santa Creu is only open in the mornings. I would also put this at the bottom of the list unless there is some special reason to go there. It's off the Ramblas, not far from La Boqueria. Palau Guell is also near Las Ramblas in the same area.

Magic fountain and Catalan Museum are near each other in Montjuic. But the fountain only operates at night (7-9) so you'd need to check the Catalan Museum to see if they have a late night. With your limited time you probably don't want to make two trips to Montjuic unless you're staying nearby.

Parc Guell is not that far from Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera and Casa Battlo are near each other.

But what you combine depends on how you're getting from one sight to another. If using public transport then you need to figure out the bus/metro schedules and routes to see if your plan makes sense.
