BARCELONA WHERE TO STAY
 

WE'RE GOING TO BARCELONA. LOOKING FOR MOST REASONABLE PLACE TO STAY, NEAR THE BEACH & EASILY ACCESS TO TRANSPORTATION TO TOWN. ANY SUGGESTIONS? ALSO, SUGGESTIONS ON DAY TRIPS.

I'm planning my trip too and would like advice for this June. We are leaning towards renting an apartment in La Barceloneta for 5 nights...

Anyone have suggestions for or against? PK - Barceloneta is the beach area of the 'city'.

We thought the Hot Apsis Splendid (Eixample) a decent deal at 95Euro + 6.5 pp for Desayuno in early May.

I stayed in INOUT hostel while in Barcelona. It was INSANELY cheap (as in 12 USD a person a night, breakfast included), but pretty out of the way. Mainly we just slept there, then brought everything we needed with us during the day on the train to the center of town...

If you're looking for convenience, look for "near Las Ramblas" in the description on your searches.

Also stayed at Hotel Apsis Splendid. Very affordable, clean and friendly staff. Did not do the breakfast, there were several bakeries nearby on a pedestrian street (Carrer de la Canuda?).

This area is not near the beach, but convenient to transportation and bus to/from airport at Placa de la Universitat.
