If you are buying tickets that need to be picked up you will want to use your friend's credit card as they will have to show it to get the tickets. If they are entrusting you with the planning I'm sure they'll trust you with their CC info... be sure to impress upon them they must have the same card with them to get the tickets...

oh, I missed the English button on Renfe, my mistake. I just read it in Spanish, it is kind of clutzy (worse than SNCF). I just try to buy a ticket and see what options are offered, that's all.

We bought the Figueras - Narbonne segment on tgv-europe with no problem and were able to print those. But renfe is not allowing the purchase of the Barcelona - Figueras tickets yet. I've read that the general rule is 60 days in advance but I could have bought for Oct 22 so am hoping we can get them for Oct. 25 in a few days.

I've also looked at raileurope and petrabax where we can get them for a few dollars more.

If anyone else has any advice I'd be glad to hear it.
