Barcelona Restaurants for NYE

We are going to be in Barcelona for NYE and need to have some recommendations for reasonable restaurants that will no doubt be holding some kind of all night function.

The kind of thing is to get to the restaurant at about 9pm and stay there until 5am with music dinner drinks and grapes all included for a 1 off charge.

There will be 4 of us and I appreciate that this is going to cost anything upwards of 150€ pp but need some alternatives.

Any recommendations ?

Thanks

Muck

You can check the Guide to Restaurants in Barcelona (www.restaurantesbarcelona.com/). It should give you several options for NYE. You can also check: www.diningcity.com/en/barcelona

The Restaurante Windsor will be open NYE (www.restaurantwindsor.com/)

The following are also open NYE, but may be too expensive (250€/person and up):
cincsentits.com/en/new-years-eve-2011/
www.freixatradicio.com/

Ok I have had a look through the suggested sites and as well as your suggestions have found this one:
RITA BLUE
Pllaça Sant Agusti nº 3
08001-Barcelona

Anyone know it? What's the area like?
It looks ok from the website.

Thanks

It's a little too basic for my tastes, but I guess it has a great value student menu.

How about the area Rob?

It's in the Raval, about halfway down Ramblas. It's busy, so watch your wallet.

I am also going to Barcelona for NYE..I found this place

http://www.shoko.biz/shoko_pdf_ing.pdf

You can get just the entry and drinks for 50 Euro.

Thought it looked fun. :) I think the beach is the best place to be for restaurants and clubs.

Shoko is a club and chill out bar first, a restaurant somewhere down the list. I guess it's not much different than being in Southern Cal. It just don't make my top 100 places to dine in Barcelona, but to each his, or her, own.

Hey Rosie

Shoko looks great fun.

Rob,can't get the link (www.restaurantesbarcelona.com/)to work properly.
Can you give me a list of your top 10?

Thanks

Muck

Try the link without the ) at the end: http://www.restaurantesbarcelona.com/

Only a few of my top 10 will be open for NYE, but we do like the Windsor. Others include Gaig (www.restaurantgaig.com/), Lasarte (www.restaurantlasarte.com/). Alkimia (www.alkimia.cat/) and Cinc Sentits (cincsentits.com).

There are others (like Gorria Restaurante) , but most are a bit more modest.

Robert I like your style, very nice taste. Wish I could afford all these nice places especially Cinc Sentits. Too bad I'm on a budge.

Mucky- have fun on your trip! I'm sure you will figure it out. Sometimes the best way to do it is ask around or just stumble upon a great time. I think that is what I am going to do. Its hard to lock something in and pay in advance for NYE to find out you made the wrong choice.

Thanks, everyone, especially Robert, for all of the tips.

I hope Muck has a great NYE in BARCA, and returns to share his or her experiences! I'll check back here before we head to Barca in April.

We don't always dine at such levels, but the occasional splurge, especially if recommended by someone we trust.

One of the places we took our Harvard group to (thanks to our friend Marta at foreverbarcelona.com), and have returned to, is Restaurante Matamala (www.matamalarestaurant.). They are open year around and serve an excellent menu at a very reasonable price.

Great restaurants Rob, thanks.
May use one on one of the other nights.

Rosie have a great time and I will come back and tell you if we survived the pickpockets. :-)
