Barcelona Restaurants

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a few nice restaurants in Barcelona that won't 'break the bank'!

We are also travelling to Seville and Madrid and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!!

We really liked La Garduna, off Las Ramblas, http://www.frommers.com/destinations...ona/D3386.html

Also, the Hotel Colon, in front of the Cathedral, although it's a bit more expensive.

ajeraj,

We liked Citrus - can't remember the exact location but it is upstairs on a corner site on the right hand side as you walk up the Passeig De Gracia from the Placa De Catalunya.

If you can get a window seat you will have a lovely view overlooking the elegant street. I can't remember how much we paid but it must have been reasonable or we wouldn't have ate there!

Hola

For Barcelona have a look at this link - http://www.site-b.org/in_barcelona_r...uide_list.html.

In Seville we had a good meal at - http://www.restaurantelacueva.net - in an atmospheric plaza in lovely Barrio Santa Cruz.

In Madrid I really loved the Alahambra Tapas bar - Calle Victoria 9.

Adios

Ooops, correction that should read Alhambra Tapas Bar.

Break whose bank? Are we talking $20 a person all inclusive? $40? $50?
I'm hesitant to answer these questions when some people say they never spend over about $10 a meal.

In Barcelona, try to go to Cal Pep - get there about 30 minutes before opening and line up. Its a tapas bar with granite countertops and totally awesome food. About 20 people can be seated at once and you just line up behind someone and wait. I think its in the top 50 restaurants worldwide. Another option is Barnabier down by the olympic port - lots of locals and lots of food at a good price. In Seville, we went to a couple of good spots. The first was Plaemar(?) - across the river in a neighborhood. Excellent fish baked in salt - a little pricey by well worth it. Another spot we liked for tapas was the Rio Grande patio - again, across the river but an easy walk. we had tapas in the Jewish quarter as well - can't remember the names but most are good. One place to stay away from is Buzo's. It was written up in a Steves book as good but it was very very expensive - the prices were quoted by the 100g for seafood which is almost nothing - you don't know the cost until the bill comes and then its a real shocker.

In Barcelona--La Dolca Herminia--Magdalenes 27--2 blocks towards Ramblas from Palau de la Musica. Very reasonable, with excellent food, and they even have a non-smoking section.

p.s. fresh seafood is usually posted on menus per 100 grams. you can tell them you want 300 grams, or a small fish instesd of a large one. that was not unusual .
