Barcelona quick stop - need easiest overnight situation

Just found out today 10/12, we fly into Barcelona late on 10/23 and board a cruise afternoon of 10/24. I usually have time to do research on hotels, transfers, etc. But, this time, I'm in a panic. A deleriously happy serious panic . . .

Neither of us sleep well on planes, and after almost 24 hours of flying, I fear we'll be zombies by the time we get through customs. Therefore we need a SIMPLE situation.

Does the airport have a "day room" situation? We only need a room/hotel for about 6 hours so we hate to blow $200-$300 just to get cleaned up and ready to board ship.

Is there such a thing as a budget hotel ($100 or so) with shuttle service near the airport? If not, how is the EASIEST, MOST SIMPLE way to get to a budget hotel?

I've looked on the various sites and haven't found anything that looks like what we're needing.

It would help some if I could arrange transport to the hotel BEFORE leaving home. Does anyone have a suggestion about how to do that?

Thanks so much. You guys always come to my rescue!

you can take the train from airport to the SANTS station.. then stay there at the Sants hotels. there are a few business hotels above or across the street from station.
i have seen many at www.hotels.com... will say "sants" in hotel title name.

a few.. 3 star..ABViladomat.. 87 euros
4 star..Barceló Sants.. 147 euros.

some other websites may have others.

stanberry,

Check Bookings.org web site, which gives you the option of searching for a hotel near El Prat, besides showing you photos of the hotels:

The other suggestions are good. Another consideration, without knowing your age/etc, is to take the Eurobus. It is a very efficient, inexpensive and convenient service that leaves from directly in front of the domestic and international terminal. It makes approximately 3 or 4 stops in the center of the city. One stop is along Grand Via, placa d'Espanya and placa Catalunya. I found a map on line prior to my trip to Bcn in June. This would give you many more hotel options in the lower range.
Have a great cruise!
