Barcelona - Passadis del Pep?

Hi All,

I'm planning a trip to Barcelona in September and have heard great things about dinner at Passadis del Pep. Tried to call to reserve but there is no response....anyone know if its closed or if there is a simpler way to contact them?

Thanks

I have read that they close for vacation the last 2 weeks of August...maybe they are closed now (??)

Do you know of any easier ways to make a reservation ie via a website? (their own website is under construction)

Thanks

My only thought would be to have your hotel make the reservation. That is what I usually do.

Fiona,
ekscrunchy is correct.
Passadis del Pep, like many top restaurants, closes Sun. and the last 2 weeks of Aug.

I would have your hotel desk staff call for you when they reopen Sept. 1. If you're staying in a self-catering, perhaps the manager of the rental co. can do this for you, or try yourself at the beginning of Sept.

Or send a fax to the number listed at www.passadis.com

There are some Barcelona and Madrid restaurants now bookable online through www.opentable.es
also, www.toptable.co.uk
but Passadis, unfortunately, isn't one of them.

Thanks, Maribel. By the way, I am confused about this restaurant. When I was last in Barcelona, about 5-6 years ago, I remember seeing a dining room in the rear of Cal Pep (which ranks in the top of my all-time great dining experiences list)

Is this Passadis del Pep? Am I remembering correctly about a room with sit-down table seating in the rear of Cal Pep?

Hi eks,
Two different spots-Cal Pep, in addition to that long counter, does have a highly coveted back room (lucky you!). Passadis del Pep is not far away-it's the "no printed menu" seafood restaurant place, the big brother of Cal Pep-on Placa Palau.

Muchas gracias, Maribel. I did not eat in that back room, but I did have several meals (including lunch and dinner on the same day) at the counter!!! I MUST get back there someday soon!!

Fiona,
Here's a current thread on Chowhound chatting about Passadis del Pep.

Thanks for the info folks. I will wait impatiently until they re-open in September :-)
