Barcelona or Sevilla: 10 days w/toddler

Hello,

We are trying to decide between Barcelona / Sevilla for 10 days in September.

Stay (points): Hilton (Barcelona) / Hilton Garden Inn (Sevilla)

Do: Relax, walk, eat - don't have to have sites to visit. We just want to wander the streets and eat.. Come back to hotel to sleep in the afternoons ...Early night in.. Easy daytrips (on energetic days, if any) (i.e. via train)

Do (3-4 days): We will have grandparents join us for a few days so we might take turns for dinner out and/or day trips outside city i.e. rent a car..

So what is a better base?

Thanks!

They are completely different parts of Spain, so using one over the other as a base would depend on what you're interested in seeing and doing. It will still be rather warm in Sevilla in September if that makes any difference to you. On the other hand it will be dry while Barcelona will be on the humid side.

Actually, you could spend 5 days in each, starting with Barcelona and ending in Sevilla.

You must be using Hilton Points as neither hotel is well located for walking around and visiting the usual tourist sites.

What PP said about hotels and weather.

Barcelona has. the beach and many parks ...nice for kids.
Not sure how close one of the Hiltons in BCN is to the sea.

It is easy to take day trips from either city.

Sevilla is my favorite small city. There is much more to do in Barcelona and early September can be over 100 degrees in the sun in Sevilla.

Roberts idea of 5 and 5 is perfect if you can do it.
