Barcelona only

Im planning a trip to Spain but only plan to visit Barcelona before moving on to Nice and Monaco. Is Barcelona a good taste of Spain or am I ripping myself off by only staying there three days and moving on to Nice?

The ripping-off factor depends on how you get there and if you need to get back there to go home. That would be a bit wasteful for such a short stay. If you have a triangular arrangement - arriving from home in Barcelona and flying home from the South of France, then 3 days are better than nothing.

It is a very cool place - but also one of the best-known for pickpockets, so read up on how to guard yourself against that - for real, they are better at what they do than you are at keeping an eye on your stuff if you give them half a chance...

It is not representative of "Spain" as such, just of that particular part where half the people don't even speak Spanish among themselves, so it is a very distinct region, but you'll love it.

How long is you entire trip? Te answer depends on this.

Hi,
I've never been to Barcelona, but I've been to Nice and Monaco.
Monaco really only requires a day or two. I did not like Nice at all. The salespeople and waiters were very rude and it was very dirty and boring.
I'd say stay in Barcelona

Barcelona is a lovely city. You can see a lot of it in 3 days.

We visited Nice 2 years ago and loved it. No one was rude to us , there are great restaurants, shops and museums in the city and around it.
We are planning another trip to Nice in May!

different strokes for different....

Barcelona will offer you a taste of...Barcelona. Three days are better than none at all.

I agree that you can see and do a lot in three days in that city.

I really love Barcelona and would go back in a New York minute! (One of these days I will.) I know nothing of Monaco or Nice, so I can't comment on those, but Barcelona is full of wonderful architecture.

I echo Wally's comment about thievery. We were having dinner at an outdoor restaurant when a young man came to our table and asked if we were enjoying the food. We thought he was a waiter until he left abruptly, and my sister's purse left with him. Wear a moneybelt!
