Barcelona, Madrid and Granada travel tips please.

Hi all...planning a trip for May...what is the best way please to do this from New York?? Fly into Barcelona and out of Madrid or can we fly direct from Granada? Thanks all!

have you checked an airfare site? If you fly from Granada you will almost certainly change planes in Madrid.

You can take the train back to Madrid or fly if the international fares are better. From Granada you would have to change in either, I believe. Last April we flew into Barcelona and home from Madrid, but had to fly from Malaga into Madrid (as we ended up in Marbella). Do try and get to Sevilla though-- probably our favorite city. 1-2 nights in Granada more than sufficient.

The worst thing about Granada from a tourist perspective is that it's off the fast train lines (AVE) from Madrid and Barcelona. Because your trip is from NY area, you should fly into Madrid/Barcelona (direct flights to and from both to JFK) and home from the other and have Granada in the middle of the trip. To get to Granada from Barcelona (or reverse), you're best off hopping a one-way on Vueling. Granada to Madrid (or reverse) is a fairly lengthy train ride or bus ride.
