Hi - not sure if anyone's helped you out yet, but I'm happy to answer any questions. I've lived here a little over a year now, so I'm fairly qualified! You can reach me at [email protected]

ash318 - If you ask your questions on the travel board, thousands of people benefit from the answers and you will get more responses. If everyone e-mailed privately, this board would not be of use to anyone as all questions would be offline. Many times asking for private e-mails, you end up getting advice from advertisers trying to sell you something. You can click on the posters screen name to see all of their previous posts. If they are advertising, they will be providing a link to their business. Advertising is not allowed on the forum.

www.madridman.com has an exellent section on Barcelona as well as www.maribelsguides.com

I agree with kybourbon. Please ask your questions here and we'll all be happy to help.

ash 318- Did you email me yesterday asking about taxi information from the airport?
Slightly confusing, as I thought you had arrived already.

@kybourbon - not sure if your comment was aimed at me, but I am genuinely interested in helping newcomers in Barcelona. I remember what it was like to move here and be completely clueless.

Which part of Barcelona is the best place to stay in. I will be heading there in July and I'm looking for a nice hotel for my husband and I. Any recommendations?

needit3: do you want busy or relaxed?
by the beach?
outdoor space? (referring to the apartment option)
do you mind noisy, lively in the centre
or
is it a relaxing holiday where you just want to sit in the sun.
there isn't really an all-round "best" place.
