... and of course emblematic Barcelona restaurant 7 Portes from 1836. Federico Garcia Lorca - the greatest Spanish poet of the 20th Century - recited his Romanceros Gitanos in public here for the first time in 1927.
Lots of other Barcelona history in the walls here. The greatest flamenco dancer of all times, Carmen Amaya from the close by Somorrostro district (Barceloneta), used to perform here as a young girl together with her father, 7 Portes was one of Picasso's favourite places in Barcelona etc etc. http://www.7portes.com/angles/
A great Barcelona event when the restaurant celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2011: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujDIsGzDO38
I never leave Barcelona without having had the fabulous Arroz caldo here and giving a nod to Lorca and Amaya: http://www.foodspotting.com/places/1...73-arroz-caldo
