Barcelona - how is this neighborhood?

Is anyone familiar with the Sant Antoni area of Barcelona? I'm visiting this summer and am looking to rent an apartment for a bit. I found one in that area, right on Avinguda Paral.lel, near the intersection of Sant Pau. Don't know a thing about the area and wanted to see if anyone had any insight. I don't need anything fancy, but obviously would prefer safe and clean.

Any insights? Thanks so much!
k

It's near the seaport. You have a tube station really near and about 4 or 5 buses on Paral.lel. It's a middle-low level quarter (that is workers) and very standard.

Need anything more ?

There are a lot of niggers from Africa there--avoid it.

I've stayed at the San Pau Hotel(very nice tourist class hotel), across the street from the hospital. If that's the area you're talking about, then it's fine. Ignore the idiot poster above me. It's a middle class neighborhood. I always felt safe, even when coming back in late evening via the subway. It is a little bit out of the night life and/or Las Ramblas areas. You will need to take a bus or subway for evening fun.
Barcelona is great, I had a fantastic time.
Have a great time!!!!
