Barcelona hotel?

Hello...Looking to book a centrally located, good value hotel in Barcelona. Any ideas?

Thank you!

Explain "good value" in financial terms and your post will no longer be vague.

Also, explain "centrally located" - Barcelona is the size of Philadelphia, what do you want to be near because you cannot be "near" everything. Rule of thumb is to be close to Placa Catalunya . . .

True, but if you want to look at the Cathedral, try www.colonhotelbarcelona.com

We had room 305 and while it was a small room, it looked out at the Cathedral.

We were happy at the H10 Raco del Pi.

"A good value" means nothing until you let us know what your budget is. We generally stay at the 1898 or Majestic. A good value? It is to us.

Hotel Neri in Barcelona is by far our best hotel experience ever. Stayed here four night this May in a "standard room" nr. 104 that was just outstanding. In the Gothic quarter, close to the Cathedral and Plaça de Catalunya but in a tranquile and secluded alley down towards small and beautiful Plaza San Felipe Neri. Large and very laid-back roof-top terrace with bar for hotel guests. 20% off if payed more than 30 days in advance, which for us meant some 190€/night.

We really liked Hotel Jazz, which is centrally located near Placa Catalunya. It is within walking distance of many places - lots of restaurants and several Gaudi sites nearby. Also easy to access transportation - several metro lines at Placa C and the aerobus also stops there. It is a modern hotel, so if you want Old World charm, it might not be the spot for you. Not sure what your price range is, but we thought it was reasonable for the quality. Not luxury, but very nice. There also was a discount for booking online.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Murmuri in the Eixample and thought it was very reasonable. We liked that it wasn't too close to Placa Catalunya (certainly within walking distance though) or the Ramblas. Though we enjoyed exploring the Gothic quarter, we were glad our hotel was in the Eixample.

Hotel Aneto. It was 60 Euro a night with free wi-fi and located just a few blocks south of Placa Catalunya, directly off Las Ramblas. It was clean, safe, nothing fancy. But, I felt like we were in the heart of it all, and it was definitely the cheapest we could find int he Las Ramblas area that still was safe and clean. I know of two other groups of friends who have stayed and all have had a pleasant time. Again, nothing fancy, but I don' think you can beat the value.
