Barcelona hop-on-off bus

Has anyone taken the hop-on-hop off bus in Barcelona. I will be there for 3 days and wanted to know if a one day or a two day pass would be better. I plan on seeing the Picasso museum and the Familia church.

Dear bckay:

Most have recommended the two day pass. We were there last June and got the one day pass since that was all we needed.

Get what best fits your schedule.

We did the two day pass last November and it really worked great for us. A lot of the sites are so spread out that it helped get us around the city and then we could take our time doing whatever at each point. I thought it was a great value since we used it fully both days!

The problem with the Hop on/off bus in Barcelona is that they make a very big loop which takes a long time. So, actually getting from place to place can be endless. We bought tickets for 2 days and used it once. It is not at all efficient. In what area are you staying? In any event, I would only buy a one day pass.

We are staying on the Ramblas. We will be there for 3 days....but as the previous poster said it takes a long time to get around. Would one day be better?

Dear bc:

I think it just depends on how much time you have, what you want to see and how the weather is.

The bus has 3 loops. We did the red & most of the blue on one day. We only stopped at the things we REALLY wanted to see. But we were worn out and it was a little warm and muggy. Some friends were there about the same time for a week, so they took one loop one day and another the next.

I think you should not stress now about it and decide once you get there.

Good luck on your trip & have fun,

MY

The bus is a very practical way of getting around to some highlghts. Be warned, though, that for the Parc Guell (Gaudi)stop..it's a long steep (very steep) walk to the park. The roze is well worth it, though.
