Barcelona: Cram & Other Eixample Hotels
Has anyone stayed on the Cram Hotel in Barcelona? Any other suggestions for hotels in the Eixample? We are leaving for Spain in 2 weeks and plan to spend 4 to 6 nights in Barcelona, arriving 28 October. It seems like a number of hotels are booked for some or all of that time.

p.s.
don't know the hotel, the location is excellent! |
I am going to barcelona in January. I have been reading lots of reviews. Try Cast 74 Apartments. seems to be in a nice area, modern, clean, and nice price. Good Luck!

We stayed in an apartment for 4 nights in Barcelona (Bari Gotic) in May, using Habitat Apartments, and it was a very positive experience. Hotels in the same area appeared to be considerably more expensive, but I was pricing for 3 people (2 bedrooms/2 baths)which doubtless skewed the comparison.

There are certain words that do not translate well such as calling a hotel cram.
I am surprised that there is a chain of hotels in Spain called Room Mate. Mate in Spanish means kill. |
I am not Spanish, but if I am not wrong, the verb is matar = to kill
'mate' is imperative for polite "you" (usted) and would probably require object pronoun, for example: matelo or matela |
Yes but it also used in the present subjunctive and the preterite.

Hello!
Eixample is a big neighborhood, depedning on where you would like to stay, the right side? left side? i think each side is different the right is more residential than the left. Hotel Casanova or Soha are located in between the city center and Eixample on Gran Via to the left side. You can also try Axel hotel its Heteosexual friendly! There are plenty of hotels located near passegio de Gracia and on the street itself. take a look at this link http://www.hotelrooms.com/Europe_Spa..._Eixample.html Good Luck! Lifestyle Barcelona |
yes, Adu
mate in preterite means "I killed '( not a good thing!) subjunctive is mostly used in noun clauses, adverb and adjective clauses and other situations (mood, doubt, etc ...) We seldom use subjunctive in English; it is regularely used ( in present and past) in Spanish, French and Italian making them "a bit" harder to learn. I wonder why a big chain used the word even if it might mean something we are not aware of? |
