Barcelona: Best bang for the buck 3 star hotel

Going to Barcelona in early September and I'm still looking for a great bang for the buck 3 star hotel near all the action and sights. Looking to keep it under 150E/night.

Any recommendations?

Can't say if it is "the best" but we stayed at the H10 Gravina in May - I think we paid 130E a nite - found the rate on the internet, maybe at the Tripadvisor site where you can compare rates from Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. We liked the location (convenient to Las Ramblas Plaza Catalunya and Eixmple), they had free internet access, a glass of champagne at check in - the room was not large but the bathroom was good sized. Staff was very helpful. Have a good time, we loved Barcelona!

We were there in early June and stayed at the H10 Placa catluna. About 150Euros including great buffet breakfast.

Directly on the square opposite el Cotre Ingles.

You can take the 3.5 Euro shuttle bus and walk accross to the hotel.

comp computer outside breakfaxt room overlooking the square to check email.

I'd stay there again.

The Suizo is right in the middle of Barri Gotic (the Jaume I metro stop is at its doorstep), has very nice rooms, a good breakfast room and an elegant lobby for about 95-110 euro per night.

www.hotelbanysorientals.com
- designer 3*
- right in the center
- under 100€/night

You can even get 4* hotels for that price (in July some even went under 100&euro if you risk contacting them last minute.

After much research and debate...I finally decided on the Hotel Condes de Barcelona. Average nightly rate of 160E. Not too bad I guess.

I think you have made a good choice in Hotels, especially for your budget. The Eixample area is a beautiful, convenient location to most everything. Plus the Metro is very easy to use in Barcelona and it is close by.
My last visit I was a few blocks away at the Majestic, however, I went into the lobby of the Condes De Barcelona, and checked it out for potential future visits. I don't know what your age or "life style" is, but this hotel is in an upscale neighborhood close to many great Tapas Restaurants,La Pedrara, Casa Mila, etc, plus beautiful boutiques, and if you enjoy walking, you can to The Ramblas, Batri Gothic, etc from your hotel.
Please post your experience at the hotel when you return. I am curious on your experience.
