A good guidebook or two should prove incredibly useful to you!

Click on destinations on this website. You can read all about Sevilla and it's Alcazar, Giralda Tower, Cathedral, Triana, etc.

Well unless you fly or go with a tour group it will take a long time to get to Algerciras for ferries to Morocco and Tangiers - not the finest of the country I think.

Not practical IMO from Seville but you can take a train or bus to Algerciras the boat over and back - several hours all told in transit.

Neat day trip near Seville is Jerez de la Frontera- sherry tours and see the behemoth Andalusian horses practicing in the local arena. About an hour tops from Seville.

cordoba would be my favorite day trip - stunning old mosque now cathedral and one of the finest towns in Spain from an old looks point of view.

For lots on trains and where to go check www.ricksteves.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.seat61.com.

How long do you have in Seville - if only a few days stay in the fabulous city.

A nice day trip from Barcelona IME is go take a suburban train to Montserrat, the famous mountain-top pilgrimage mecca:
