Barcelona and cities/places around
Hi there,
My name is Rodrigo and I am from Brazil. I am going to have an executive program in Barcelona during 5 days in July and then stay 7 days in Barcelona and cities nearby. Does anyone have recommendations or routes ? I am planning to stay 3 nights in Barcelona and then take day-tours. I have been thinking to visit cities in Provence, but I believe I would not have enough time.
Best Regards

I would recommend a day trip to Montserrat, which you can do yourself on the train very easily, or with an organized tour if that is your preference.
I did not do this on our trip to Barcelona last summer, but Tarragona is within day-trip distance of Barcelona as well, and I think is worth the time.
You can get to Provence if you really want to, but there is so much to see in Barcelona itself, and if you add a few day trips, you will have no trouble filling seven days.

I agree that 7 days would be great for Barcelona and the areas immediately around it. I would recommend that you consult a really good guidebook or two -- perhaps the Michelin Green Guide or Rough Guide. And, to help you get you started, you might check my trip report from last May -- just click on my screen name to find it. I didn't visit Tarragona, but agree that it would be a great choice.
