Barcelona

Hi.... For very active seniors who want a very central location in Barcelona, but not on top of all the NOISE, which locations would you recommend we look into for our rental apartment?

Also, is San Sebastian a day trip from Barcelona? A good plan?

THANK YOU!

Sandy

"is San Sebastian a day trip from Barcelona? A good plan?"

Not for a day trip. It is a 7 hour drive.

We stayed at the Hotel Caledonian, in the University area; it was extremely convenient (1) from airport shuttle, (2) to Metro, (3) walking to Ramblas, (4) walking to Casa Batllo. It was very quiet and we never felt unsafe (but actually didn't in any of Barcelona).

For the place to stay in Barcelona, anything close to Plaza Catalunya is great, save, central and easy to walk to any attraction. You can use also airbnb.com to find accommodation.
San Sebastian is NOT a day trip. Daily trips can be to Montserrat, Girona, Sitges, Figueres, for example.

Mrsgo: we were recently in Barcelona, a group of four couples , all in our 60's. We rented apartments from FISA Rentals,.
The apartments were located at Carrer Pelai, some two blocks fron Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas.
We walked to all places of interest, with the exception of Sagrada Familia, you can really walk if you like, and park Guell , easy on the metro.
Beautiful city and food.

We went to Montserrat and found it so so.
