Barcelona

Fellow Travelers: Has anyone rented an apartment from Negre Apartments in Barcelona? Just want to be sure they are legit, clean, etc.? Can't wait to see this amazing city. Many thanks.

Never heard of them, but any business that has rentals in Barcelona, Dallas, Kiev and Istanbul has to be interesting. That's quite a mix of locations.

I've rented from them. They are legitimate. The unit was clean.

But they do not follow the law in Catalunya, as I gave information to you in this thread.

How can you be sure you are renting a legal apartment?

adrienne Oct 4th, 2014 11:08 AM

ribeirasacra - I looked at the 3 links you provided in the other thread. One is in Spanish so I can't read it. The other two are about Barceloneta, drunken tourists and apartment closings. From these articles, how would anyone know that Negre does not follow the law? Perhaps I missed something in the articles.

Yikes! Perhaps I shouldn't have asked on this site. Confusion and a reprimand.

adrienne Oct 4th, 2014 02:03 PM

Who was reprimanded? I guess I missed that one.

Anyway, I gave you my answer. By legitimate I meant that the apartment exists, it was the price quoted, there were no problems, and the people were available at check in and during working hours.

Adrienne, I think your answers should be considered quite helpful.

ribeirasacra Oct 5th, 2014 11:58 PM

No one here reprimand you. I just pointed you back to the question you had previously raised where you should know about illegal rented apartments. Those apartments are the reason of the protests. Hence the authorities are looking closely at unregistered rentals and the website you are asking about here does not give any HUBT numbers. They are breaking the law. I have not supplied any link to information in Spanish in the link in my post of the 4th Oct.

My mistake. You said the link was in Spanish and I couldn't understand it. Perhaps it was in Catalan.
