Barcelona 1 T-10 ticket for 2 persons?

Hi there,

Question, how would two people use one T10 pass? If I pass through the turn style, do I then handover the ticket to my partner? Would he just re-insert in machine and pass the gate?

We're going to be there for 13 nights, do you think the T10 is our best bet? I've been reading about it and getting more confused...

Thanks for any assistance.

You put the ticket in the turnstyle, go through, take the ticket and hand it back to the next person.

Thanks Kybourbon for that 1st part.

Anyone else have thoughts on if the T10 would work best for 13 nights. Or should we do two 5 day passes each. I'm just wondering if we'd burn through the T10 too quickly, or if BCN is such a walkable city that we would not need to use public transport too often.

Thanks again, E

The 5-day travel card costs 23.10€ or 4.62€ per day. T-10 is 7.70€, or .77€ per ride. So simple math says that if you plan to use fewer than 6 rides per day, the T-10 is the cheaper bet.

If you are thinking about a lot of travel, there is also a T-50 for 31.50€ which gives you 50 rides, but not shareable.

Barcelona is a very walkable city. I recommend you start with the T-10 and see how far that gets you. Also use the buses! Much more fun than the metro.

you can share the T-10, then buy another one if you need to. you might end up walking more than you think in 13 days, to get your bearings and enjoy the view.

Also, get the T-10 at the airport train station (BCN city i mean) to enjoy very low cost transport straight into the city centre: Sants or Passeig de Gracia. This allows free transfer to metro or bus within an hour and a half.

Also, you don't have to use the T-10 within 5 days so you've got more freedom.

Hi Defdef.. welcome to Fodors.

Just a tip for the future: It makes more sense to start a new thread than raise an old one if you question is not identical to the topic of the old thread. As not many Fodorites will expect a different question in an old thread.

Now back to your question:
The T-10 for zone 1 (which is the one that gets you everywhere in the city of Barcelona) has 10 units of 1 1/4 hours (not 1 1/2 hrs) of travel time. Regardless of how many transfers you do. So you can transfer as much as you want between metro and bus or tram. After 75 minutes a new unit will be deducted. That's why you always have to validate when you transfer (except within the turnstile-guarded metro network).
