Barcalona
 

I am going to Barcalone in March. Would appreciate any help, tips relating to places to stay, lplaces to visit, etc. Thanks in advance<BR><BR>Nick

Nick - I was in Barcelona last March/April and had a wonderful time - a truly magnificant city. I have topped my trip report "Bridget Jones & Friend post live from Barcelona" (the movie had jut been released!!!) for info on sightseeing, restaurants and shopping.<BR><BR>Regards ... Ger

People, people, people, can we not learn to spell the name of our destinations? Doesn't have to be the approved "English" spelling -- could even be the approved spelling in some other language, but "Barcalone"/"Barcalona" isn't the correct spelling in any language, to my knowledge. Of course, if I'm wrong, I expect Fodorites will tell me.

I have never been to Barcalounger so I cannot rightfully say.

My favorite experiences in Barcelona: the Gaudi buildings and park (especially the rooftop of the apartment house), watching the Calalan folk dancing in the streets on the weekends (unique), the tour of the Palau de la Musica Catalana (need to get there early for tickets as they sell out), the City History Museum (underground pathways to view the remains of old Barcelona) and walking the Rambla including Boqueria food market. My least favorite event was visiting the Pueblo Espagna villages as it was a major tourist shopping scene... nothing authentic.
