iloveitaly: The focus of my thesis was HIV prevention with incarcerated youth.

My time in Rome is short, and due only to a 7 hour layover on my way to Palermo. My hope is to take the Leonardo Express into the city and at least see the Trevi Fountain. Better to walk around the streets of Rome for a few hours than sit at the airport!

My time in Sicily will be divided among three bases in the western part of the island. Three days in Palermo, then on to five days at the San Giovannello agriturismo near Villarosa in the province of Enna for family history research and exploration. From there, I will head west to the Fontanasalsa agriturismo near Trapani and spend six more days exloring the environs in that area.

Dear Iloveitaly,

I would be very interested in your hotel experience, if you're inclined to share when you get back. I'm considering the apartments at Domus Julia next year, and if you hear/see anything of them while you're there, please mention it as well. They seem to be asking for payment in advance by bank transfer, and I'm not inclined to do that. So I may have to look again. Buon viaggio!
