Bancotel checks available
We recently returned from a 10 day trip to Spain and used Bancotel checks at all our hotels. We stayed at 5 star hotels throughout Spain and had absolutely no problems using the checks. We have two extra checks that we are willing to sell which will be good until March 20, 2005. The Bancotel checks are a great way to save money at top international hotels. If interested, please contact us at [email protected].

I'm absolutely astounded that the Fodors "Holier than Thou" Police have yet to blast you for posting a commercial but they've probably been too busy enjoying theit 15 minutes of fame as stars of the Internet!

I'm with TopMan on this.
You spent 10 days in Spain and you come to this website which is for sharing travel information. You don't have a single piece of information for us -- no restaurant or hotel to tell us about, no tips for traveling in Spain, no anything. Yet you list that you want to sell these checks to us, the people you don't care enough about to give any information to. |
Well, I emailed the address above asking a few questions and what I got back was a link to buying bancotel checks directly, and another rave review about how good they are. There was no mention of how to buy their unused ones mentioned here. Am I the only one who thought these people wanted to sell some actual left-over checks, not just advertise how great they are?
A second email remarked about my "nasty" post here, but still there was nothing about selling the so called unused checks. They did say that Bancotel was the best tip they got from Fodors and again they posted a link to buy them direct. Gee, TopMan, do you think you were right? |
By the way, a search for Bancotel, shows the most recent post for those checks before this one was two and a half years ago, so if that was a tip they got from here, I guess it just took a while to get around to using it.

Patrick,
Yes, I thought hopnm was offering unused coupons. It didn't seem odd to me at first for if you buy them directly from Bancotel, you have to buy them in groups of 5, so it's possible someone might have leftover coupons. However, if you buy them from Petrabax.com, you can get any amount you want, but there is a $25 delivery charge. I've used these coupons and they were originally recommended to me on Fodors. Seems weird bancotel would post as such... |
Didn't mean to cause such a stir. Just wanted to share a way to stay in Europe for less and offer my leftover checks to anyone who was interested for a discounted price.

Hmmmmmmmmm....Patrick says
>There was no mention of how to buy their unused ones mentioned here.< We know Patrick. |
My apologies. I got an email back from hopnm this morning. They are offering three checks each worth 50 € for $50 each. Normally they are only sold in groups of 5.
So if anyone is interested, I suggest you contact them. |
I guess hopnm has been vindicated.

if you cant sell them, give them to someone for their anniversary or birthday who is travelling to europe as they are accepted in most countries, not only spain.
i personally live in spain and posted about these checks at one time informing people of the great bargain they can be. i could swear it was earlier than two and a half years ago. some travel agencies in spain will sell you one loose check or there are otehr systems where you only buy the exact number you need. |
I used Bancotel in May2002 and got the information here.
Bancotel is great and we stayed at very good hotels, I think if you have extra checks, you can sell those back to the travel agency. Now, Im planning a new trip and was looking for info about Bancotel. |
